Overview

We produced the English-to-Chinese localization of key web content for Gleneagles Hospital and Pantai Hospital, two of Malaysia’s leading private healthcare providers. The project involved translating a wide range of patient-facing materials, including service descriptions, medical specialties, and health education articles.

Terminology Accuracy: Ensured precise translation of medical terms, drawing on trusted bilingual resources and references to maintain consistency with clinical standards.

Cultural & Tone Adaptation: Localized content for a Chinese-speaking audience, softening technical language where appropriate to enhance readability and approachability.

Consistency Across Pages: Built and maintained a termbase and translation memory to ensure consistent terminology across the full website scope.

Patient-Centered Localization: Prioritized clarity, warmth, and accessibility in the target language, in line with the hospitals’ goals to improve user experience for Chinese-speaking patients.

The localized content supported Gleneagles and Pantai Hospitals in expanding their reach to Mandarin-speaking audiences, facilitating easier access to health information and medical services. The project demonstrated my ability to handle sensitive medical topics with linguistic precision and cultural awareness.
